The City of Newport Pipes and Drums are staying at the Premier Inn, Charing Cross in readiness for the Pipefest Festival on 7th Aug.  We are looking for recommendations on a good pub where we can enjoy Friday night (6th Aug) and Sunday night (8th). There will be approx 30 of us.

Shame on my fellow Celtic fans. Those who thought it necessary to voice their bigoted views whilst the respectful fan, no matter his political allegiance, paid his respects to the dead of wars. I am amazed that our fans, whilst mocking the shame that scourges the enemy, they bring the same shame upon the club they claim to love. It is my opinion that the Police should have arrested these idiots and charged them with a criminal offence, whether for bigotry or public order. There must have been Police in attendance outside the ground, so why didnt they do something about it? It beggars belief. Shame on you and I hope you never return to paradise.

Does anyone know if the VW festival at Biggar is on this year ? Ive been a few times and its a great show, but i had heard that it may not happen this year...

What a great place for drink with friends. Went in for a few drinks and ended up staying all night!! Great atmoshere and cheap drink.  I'm sure the music and talent was good, but had so many wines that i can't remember!

Went to Citation with friends for lunch and a few drinks.  Was very impressed with food, service and atmoshere.  Citation is decorated to a high standard and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.  There was good variety in the lunch menu and the food was delicious.  Will definately be going back to sample the dinner menu.  You can also reserve areas in the bar for parties etc.  Well worth a visit.

Regarding Friday Street, which i regularly attend and love every minute of. Please be aware of the Glasgow Mod Weekender which is on 25th to 28th June 2009. It will be fantastic. Check it out at www.myspace.com/fridaystreet and book early. Music, sharp suits, sharp scooters and stylish people. Love it.

Visited Friday Street, a fabulous mod club located downstairs in Blackfriars pub in the Merchant City in Glasgow, on Friday night with some mates. The music was fantastic and my feet didnt stop all night. Great DJs and really stylish people, myself included !!. I've been numerous times and enjoy it more each time. Definetly getting more popular by the month. So if you like mod / northern soul tunes, get down there. Last friday of each month.

My mates and i go almost every month. The music is fantastic and sooo cool..!and Nikki Nevada? Blimey..

I spend half my time trying to keep my feet from dancing every night!!!

The girls who attend are also gorgeous, evening dresses and all...
