Paranormal Activity

Sat and watched Paranormal Activity the other night. IM still undecided as to whether it was a good film or not as the night scenes were extremely creepy, the daytime scenes were rather dull and although trying to build character in Katie and Micah was warranted, but reall failed in execution. This was more than made up for by the brooding terror that lurkes in the doorway, blew the covers and then dragged Katie from the bed in the scariest part of the movie. Good ending and ideas with the camera timer. So 7/10 for me. Worth seeing.

Triptykon : Eparistera Daimones

For those of you with a depressive disposition, this is most definately for you.

Very much carrying on from where Monotheist left off, E.D will not be a major surprise to any of you who appreciated Celtic Frost's last release, but it's possibly darker.

With its dark atmospherics, prickly & bleak guitar tone throughout, it genuinely leaves you with a sense of unease & its pretty pointless trying to pick out individual songs on this slab of blackness because its a long 70 minute mood piece designed to be heard in one sitting, admittedly it's a challenge to get through and at points you really have to pause to come up for air, but I love a musical challenge.

Take the phone off the hook, close the curtains, turn out the lights and wallow in the misery.

Mark Owen - Rehab

"They tried to make me go to rehab and I said ...." ok ok ok.

Isnt it hilarious that Mark Owen of Take That fame has checked himself into rehab following being caught with his pants down. He bleats that its all down to the demon drink lol..!! I read that he says he is unable to control himself when drinking and that he has had a problem with booze for some time.

Boo hoo Mark. Not everyone who drinks is unable to control themselves when it comes to cheating on their wives / husbands etc. It seems to me that he is so far up his own backside that he thinks he is irresistable to women and so being a pop god, he should be able to do what he likes and not think of his wife of a few months and 2 children. What a fool. He should get all he deserves and I hope his wife is strong enough to give him hell, even if she wants to stay with him.

So the question is......... what has he gone into rehab for ??? Drink, cheating ?

This rehab nonsense is just a ploy used by so-called celebrities to deflect anger from their wrongdoings. Public apologies make me sick. Mark Owen publicly saying how sorry he is and admitting that he cant control himself. Nonsense. why are you telling the public. THis should be a private thing for his family. Just like Tiger Woods and his embarassing apology. Grovelling is what i call it and in public, it makes you look like a wee put-upon nonce.

"OOOh im sooo sorry for what I have done".. Shut up.

"I will go into rehab to sort myself out".... Shut up.

"Im a fool, a d***head, a f***head"..... Shut up and stop feeling sory for yourself. Its all your fault... Take the blame.

"Ive been living with the guilt"... shut up. Cant have been that guilty as it didnt stop you from keeping it up all night or stopping you from carrying on the affairs.

"I didnt cheat on Emma while we were married"... Shut up. You kept an affair going for 5 years... this wasnt a on night stand.. This was cheating on a scale where he didnt care what it did to his family.. Can rehab fix that mindset ? I dont think so.

"Wish I had told Emma and come clean"... Shut up.. You are just saying that because you were caught.

Rehab, public apologies etc etc.. its all because he got caught.

Some Take That songs which are perfect for this are:

Relight My Fire

Once Youve Tasted Love

It Only Takes a Minute

Why Cant I Wake Up With You

Pray

Love Aint Here Anymore

Back For Good

Up All Night

Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha

Gypsies invading Hardhorn village

Was amazed to read about the Gypsies (or travellers as they are now called in this PC world gone mad) who turn up in a village in the middle of the night, park their caravans, let their dogs loose and then start laying foundations without interference from the authorities. IN fact the law is activley assisting these peopke by trying to apply a post code to the site to ensure if in an emergency, the emergency services can get to them !!

MAdness. One thing, do they pay taxes to pay for the emergency services that they may use ? i doubt it, so why on earth should we be paying for their lifestyle ?

And surely the area that the field is in has a post code, so why have another applied? Its bending over backwards to an element of the community who are not really part of society at all, they have their own community and values. So they want to remove themselves from our society, but they still want to use us for their benefits claims and use of our services. They should be cut off completely since that is what they have done themselves, cutting off from our society. They must be laughing their asses off.

The authorities in this country are not strong enough and need to either get tougher or get out and let someone who can stand up for themselves and the tax payers of this country.

This country is going to hell in a caravan.

James Bulger

Its amazing how an image can stick in one's mind. The image of James Bulger on the front page of the papers was really haunting for me and brought back a feeling of horror, revulsion, anger etc. What happened to that wee boy was horrific and not only did it proke consideration as to what has happened to some of our children, but an apparent leniency in the law.

I cant imagine the anguish the re-publication of the image of James being led away by those monsters Jon Venables and Robert Thompson. Terrible and all because Venables seems to be revelling in his own legend in his own mind. Continued brushes with the law shows a tendency to crime, though this is probably put down to remorse.

I hadnt thought of it before, but is it not wrong that Thomson and Venables are out and have been for some nine years? I find that sickening.

Think of what James Bulger has missed in the 17 years since his death? What a life he could be having now as a 19 year old enjoying himself. Not only James, but the loss felt by his mother and the guilt felt by those passersby who did nothing. Another 38 lives blighted.

But no, his murderers are fighting and being employed as a bouncer, a perfect role for violence, or living it up with their gay lover who knows about his past. Its enough to drive one to despair. They should be behind bars now and looking forward to a lifetime inside. No mercy.

High on Fire : Snakes for the Divine

Oh My God ! This is the best opening to an album i've heard in ages, Snakes for the Divine - Curtains up, its all here, the grand title, the magnificent fluting opening, the drums roll, the unpredictable stabs cut with fury, then the one time Sleep guitarist, Matt Pike's whisky soaked and smoked vocals kick in. Nothing much has changed here except everything, the songs are bigger, louder, longer, sharper, heavier and more furious than 4 years ago's Death is this Communion, and that just the first 120 seconds, there's still 6 and a half minutes of bliss still to come.

With barely time to catch your breath, Frost Hammer drops and oh boy does it drop, more like a 10 ton frost hammer, and another unpredictable highlight is the middle eight when the song vears off into this unexpected beautiful rock waltz for 2 minutes, then the song continues and ends as sharply as it began. The tempo slows slightly for Bastard Samurai, but its no less devastating and only serves to broaden H.O.F's sound. Up next is Ghost Neck and from then on to the finish line or should i say the brilliantly titled, Holy Flames of the Fire Spitter, its fire and brimstone all the way. With albums still to come this year from Down and Killing Joke, its gonna be tuff to touch this.

Its refreshing that a band of this nature have the courage of their convictions to follow their own fiery path and no doubt there are other bands on the planet that are doing this kind of thing but i can't imagine them doing it to this high (on fire) standard. Magical Stuff !

I was reading in a recent interview, Pike said he had 4 hours worth of material for this album, of which the producer trimmed it down to 40 or so minutes. lets hope its not another 4 long years till album No 6 hits. Album of the year, and its only February.

The Brits 2010

Dunno if its just me but I cant be annoyed with the celeb backslapping that goes on at events like the Brits.

Cheryl Cole miming very badly through the turgid dirge that is Fight For This Love, and this from a judge on X Factor.?? If it wasnt the truth it would be hilarious, but the joke is on the audience fir lapping this up.

Oasis album (What's the Story) Morning Glory being the best British album of the last 30 years is nonsense. Christ, Kasabian were also on the list so that shows me how poor the decision making was. in my opinion there are a large number of albums better than Morning Glory. Definitely Maybe for a start and hundreds better than Kasabian.  And Kasabian winning Best British Group... what a joke. And an Outstanding Contribution to British Music to Robbie Williams ??? Bloody hell.. What were they thinking... I smell a bung from a record label desperate to push a terrible album and faded / jaded singer... Singer, I watched some of his live gig and the bum notes were considerable..!

Oh, and who could fail to giggle at the Jesus Christ pose that was the JLS entrance !! hahahaha...

When I first saw Oasis during the early days, I though Liam was cool and the personification of the pop star, but nowadays he is just a sad prat.

British music is dead.

And who gives a shit whether Cheryl Cole's eyes were tired and puffy form the tears. Its dull dull dull...

Heligoland : A massive attack turns to friendly fire

when are M.A going to realise they should be paying as much attention to their songwriting as their production ??? Dark gloomy & frequently dull, nothing wrong with dark & gloomy as Mezzanine was but M.A should never be dull. The choice of vocalists is also questionable, i mean Guy from Elbow, C'mon? We waited 7 years for this ?
